Hello Ted,the injured in action makes sense,as my grandfather did mention he had various bits of shrapnel in him.As for a number, ML 462 was mentioned,and a Canadian Gordon Stead.I have read his book Leaf Upon The Sea.Photos will be sent once I have visited my grandmother.Rgds Alan
