Re: MTB 670

Fantastic photo's Peter! Those faces so young and fresh. Proper "bits of skin" They really paint a picture and bring it to life.
I look at every one in search of my dad and looking for his shipmates too.

Hi Bernie Well lets hope there are more photos to come! I know there's a chance to find more as more people get involved that's why I still come back and look on here. It has changed a lot though, my dads service history and photos were on topic MTB 638 but can't seem to find any of them. I have see...

Re: MTB 670

Hi Bernie, Its just that a Bill Wright lived close to us in Midlands. My dad died at 69 and never spoke at all about the time in the navy, when he was really ill he had a copy made of his photo with his mom +dad at the Palace at his Investiture for the DSM. He must have wanted us 4 kids to be proud ...

Re: MTB 670

Guy on right resembles my dad, able seaman Joe Vaughan but if he has glasses on my dad did'nt wear them. He was on mtb 670. And 638 in Adriatic he was a pom pom gunner. Not certain its him though.

Re: MTB 670

I have previously posted questions under ML's 122 and 563 in relation to the service record of my late father William Aubrey Jones JX 300350. His service record showed him on numerous bases but only on tenders ML122(Home Waters), ML 563 ( Mediterranean) and HMS Grecian ( Home Waters - post hostilit...

Re: MTB 638

Hello Malcolm, nice to hear from you and especially with the news that your Dad was in the crew photo and third from right in the top row. My Dad also served on MTB 638 and when I saw that photo I couldn't see him, the closest in looks to him was your Dad.(how strange is that) However someone pointe...

A big thank you!

Hi to all, I just wanted to commend the work that is being done on this website! I began my quest in January 2012 to research my late father's Naval History and as I knew very little began by "googling" and slowly the pages unfolded. I have been particularly touched by people's willingness...

Re: MTB 638

Hi Admin Thanks for that it was a very interesting read!! I will study the IWM private papers too. Re: MTB 670

Hi Jonco

I have finally received my Dad's service record and it shows him on MTB 670 from 8th March 1943 till 3rd February 1944 after looking at your post I am sure this was before you dad served on it though, at least I can see the boat he was on, thanks to your photos.

Re: MTB 638

Re: MTB 638

Hi Jonco, Thanks for those photos, they look great and very fast in the water too! I will check out the other post MTB 670 and have a look. They didn't have much protection on those little ships did they??? that makes them even braver in my book. Do you know if they would have had a base? as dad too...
