Maybe they captured some other type of the ship. Because, as I know, neither one E-boat (Schenllboot) was captured on Adriatic during 1944. All E-boats on Adriatic was captured (they capitulate) on 1st May 1944. I will try to see all my files which ship was captured by MTB-634 on Adriatic in 1944. B...

It think that the time on this photo is May 1945 when Germans capitulate on Adriatic.

HMS COLOMBO was stationed from November 1944 till the end of war in port of town of Zadar (Zara) as a AA ship. The Germans try to sink it with explosive ships in December 1944. @jonco, You father was not only in Italy. He was also in Croatia during war. MTB 670 had a base in island of Vis.

@Jonco, thank for pictures. They are perfect!!!! @retr, sailors on those ship have not had almost any protection. Those ships where made of wood, so every enemy shell could be dedly. Also gun/cannon crews were fully exposed to enemy fire, but that knowledge makes them brave. Because German F-lighter...

Great photo. This is probably (99%) MFP-942. I have its cannon 20 mm Breda. I will put some pictures of that cannon later.

Can You please put this picture in the biggest format, maybe scan it with 600dpi.

They have base on island of Vis in Adriatic in village called Komiža. But this is not Komiža. Later (from November 1944) they have bases on island of Ist in Adriatic and in town of Zadar and Ancona. Maybe it is Ancona.

This boat was involved in destruction of German conwoy in night of 7th August 1944 near island of Vir when MFP-963 and 968 was sunked.
I will write the story about that once.

Yes, I have those 2 reports and it is very hard to find real truth. Let me explain one by one (btw I am "into" this action about 7 years - diving where German ships were beached and looking for MFP-625 who is still hiden in deep) 1. British report - two German convoy - 6 MFP`s, 4 PiL boats...
