Re: MTB 256 JS White

See the specs here;

http://uboat.net/allies/warships/class/643.html

The main difference was the flush deck design and the different motors (Stirling Admirals rather than Packards).

HDML 1392 12" model

Hi Thomas What scale will you build the model? At 1/24th scale you can buy very good plans from here; http://www.myhobbystore.co.uk/product/16740/british-powerboat-mm1377 and complete kits from Deans Marine here; http://www.deansmarine.co.uk/shop/product_info.php/cPath/10_14/products_id/220 if you w...

Re: Coastal Forces Hulls in 1/72nd and 1/35th Scale

Thank you very much, I'm afraid no such kit exists although I can supply the Fairmile B hull in GRP, and certain fittings are available commercially e.g. https://www.whiteensignmodels.com/p/Coastal+Craft+172+Vosper+72+ft+MTB+234+CC72001/13265/#.UNC8auQ0WSp I always felt the series of photos of MASB ...

Coastal Forces Hulls in 1/72nd and 1/35th Scale

I am currently building 1/72nd scale model hulls in glass-fibre for some WWI and most WWII CF types over the coming months. The two scales have been chosen to match the most popular scales of the model kits currently available from the likes of Italeri, Revell and Airfix etc. so that modellers can a...

Photos of MGB 660 appear on page 38 of The Fairmile D (Anatomy of The Ship series) and page 97 of Allied Coastal Forces of WWII vol I, both by John Lambert and both alongside at Bastia. There is also a line drawing of 660 on page 113 of the latter publication.

Unlikely to have been from a larger vessel, as a vague rule of thumb 1 foot of boat length for 1" on the fly of the ensign.

More great shots, photos like these are rare as hens teeth. My only (wild) guess about the flags and the army officer is that she is doing some target or range safety work.

Hi Robert MGB 8 is presently a houseboat at Shoreham called Lanroc (ex Puffin). This information is from Phil Simons the CF Historian, he quite recently identified her. Plenty of photos on the internet for example; http://www.flickr.com/photos/austin7nut/5857575225/in/set-72157627014874044 I'm very ...

Your dad's boat MTB 212 as houseboat Blue Coral at Riverland Christchurch has appeared in an interesting photo here; http://www.dorsetlife.co.uk/2012/05/christchurchs-mtbs-what-happened-to-the-wartime-craft/ She is between ex ML 110 Corinthus and another short MTB. Re: ML 220 1st ML Flotilla

ML220 post-war; as you can see she appears to have had a 3rd layer of planking which runs half way up her topsides; this could be something to do with her striking rocks. She may have ended up as yacht Viscilla based in France by 1966, unsure about this though.
