I was hoping that you would have had a reply to your query by now.
I am not aware of any 'nick-names' given to boats except that this particular boat joined the rest of the Fairmile 'D' class to become known as a 'Dog' boat.

According to Naval History Net HMS Colombo was active in the Aegean Sea during November, then again in December 1944, sailing back to the UK in March 1945.

This incident is graphically described in "Mediterranean MTB at War" by L C Reynolds and H F Cooper (page 142). There were 9 casualties - two fatal - the 4 'Hellcat' aircraft came from the escort carrier HMS Emperor.

Yes, that is correct. His Service number is stating that his Divisional Home Port was Portsmouth -P- while the JX gives an indication of an agreed length of Service.

'jonco' is correct
The first ML118 should be Q118 constructed by Midland Boat works of Ontario Canada for the RCN.
The new database, when it arrives, will show the correct pennant.
