Boat in Cardiff

Postby DaiDisco » Sun Jan 22, 2012 1:45 pm

The pics attached were taken in Cardiff yesterday. I've had a sort interest in Mtb's as a boy and always had a soft spot for the Schnellboots ( purely for their looks, grace and power ) and while looking them up came across the websites / forums for the british MTBS and where they are now. So now I'm hooked and was driving into Cardiff when I saw this boat. I don't know how long it has been there but I think it has only recently appeared and was wondering if anyone can tell me anything about it. Or even if it is an MTB /MGB. Cheers.

I can't help you I'm afraid but I'm sure others on here can and I'll show it to my grand dad but where is it in Cardiff? Is that the River Ely or Rhymney and what is the road behind? Penarth Rd? Ely Link?

Thanks for the reply :-) If you get off the M4 at Cardiff West, Join the A4232 and travel towards Asda in Cardiff Bay. Just before you get off at the Asda junction look over the bridge ( if you're not driving :-) ) and you'll see her. Get off at Asda junction ,down slip road, turn left at lights and left again at next set right before Asda petrol station, end of that road and your there.

Looks like an ex Swedish "tpbs 200" (or "200 baten") class troop landing craft;
