Good day Gentlemen,

It's a great honour to join this group, I would be hugely grateful for any help you may be able to provide.

My Grandfather served on MTB710 and I know he was one of the 4 survivors when 710 hit a mine on April 10th 1945. I am looking for a bit of guidance on where to look for any detail or photos of MTB 710, my father and I know my grandfather was on 710 for almost 2 years . His name was Kenneth Douglas Thomas and was an Able Seaman. He died almost 21 years ago , I followed him into the Royal Navy. My father wanted to join the Navy in the 60s however ( we suspect) he had such a bad time during the war he would not entertain it. If any of you fine gentlemen have anything on MTB 710 or even an idea of where I can get a survivors list I would be hugely grateful.

Kind Regards

Gareth

Peter,

Thank you so much for that information. I've passed George's email address on to my father who is emailing him as I type this.

I'm searching online for that book. My Grandfathers name is Ken Thomas from Swansea

Thanks again

Regards

Gentlemen,

A huge thank you for putting me in touch with George this week. I had a really nice chat with him last night, he remembers my grandfather and he filled in some gaps as well as confirming a few tales. I will visit George over the next few weeks.

Regards

Gareth

Good Morning .
I have discovered in my library of Coastal Forces Veterans Assoc. Newsletters the attached report of an action involving MTB 710 that I am sure will be of interest in the current enquiry, plus on the same page a report of HMS Vienna our worthy Base Ship for which we hold many memories
