RA10 ex MTB 314

Postby Pioneer » Fri Sep 07, 2012 8:39 pm

We are indebted to ‘Christian’ for bringing attention to some detail within this YouTube clip. Although much of this footage has been seen before of training squadrons in the Baltic there is also some unique footage of boats in the Med.
Between 2:47 to 3:20 (timing scale at bottom left) you can see the captured MTB 314, then running as the German RA 10 - music may not be to everyones taste

Hello from Finland,

I have made a model of RA 10 in scale 1:87 to match the scale of my modelrailroad scale. I got the idea of the video shown above.

Hello Johan

Thanks for the link to your model diorama showing the captured RA 10 (MTB 314). The image showing her alongside the S-Boat certainly gives a good comparison for the relative sizes etc.
I understand that she was ‘salved’ by the German R boat R 10 – would 315’s new pennant of ‘RA 10’ be an indication to the identity of the salvage vessel I wonder??

Regards

Hi,

can´t tell if that is the case with the pennant. The history of the boat is interesting, so I had to make a model of her...
