Able Seaman Robert Henry George Juffs. CFVA 2232

Postby Admin » Tue Dec 01, 2015 12:00 am

London Branch has learned of the death of Robert Juffs, who died aged 90, on 20th November, 2015. As a member of the Coastal Forces Veterans Association (CFVA) — as well as Standard Bearer for Royal British Legion — he attended many of the CFVA's reunions, where he enjoyed the company of his former shipmates. Like many who served in Coastal Forces, Robert valued the sense of comraderie, and sense of purpose, forged during his wartime service, considering those times to be the highpoint of his life; one which 'normal' life back in 'civvy' street could never quite match. Robert served as a gunner on MGB 66, and MTBs 696 & 749. In addition he served with ML 461. One of his most memorable experiences from those times, was a visit made at the end of the war to Mount Athos in Greece — an island populated by monks — where he experienced a profound peace and joy. Robert was married and had four children.

Lest we forget
