Holocaust Memorial Day

On this day, 27 January, the Coastal Forces Veterans web site is marking Holocaust Memorial Day, as it has done over several years now. Now more than ever, it is imperative to do all in our power to uphold the rule of law, in respect of life and liberty, in respect of the means (including territory) required to sustain living, and in respect of property and of property dispute.

Our family members fought to defeat Fascism during the Second World War, suffering death and injury on a large scale. In the aftermath, their generation sought to re-establish the rule of law, and to lay down protections governing the life and freedom of every human being.

The United Kingdom was instrumental in leading the way, helping to set up the European Convention of Human Rights (ECHR), and the first of the European nations to ratify the convention in March 1951. Freedoms so hard won, should never be surrendered, and the bodies tasked with upholding the rule of law which underpins them, should always be defended.

Lest we forget

A very powerful message Admin.
The World appears to be at a dangerous juncture, according to most mainstream media. Although not a wartime Vet, my early years were growing up in London and I do have some vivid memories of that conflict.
As you say - 'Lest we Forget'.
