59th ML Flotilla, Burma RNVR

Postby Rob_COPP » Mon Aug 15, 2022 7:23 pm

Thought people might be interested in this list, which was in amongst other documents compiled by a COPP officer (Combined Operations Pilotage Parties) after the war.

(ML 437 was involved in a couple of operations with COPP in December 1943 (Operation Bunkum) and then in February 1945 https://www.coppsurvey.uk/motor-launches/#ML437. The COPP officer who wrote this was involved in the December 1943, so it probably reflects his recollection of how they were constituted at around that date.)

Just found another copy of this which has a frustratingly cut-off snippet of additional text at the bottom:

"ML 414, ML 415 and ML 418 were detached from the 59th Flotilla in September 1944 and until April formed the ultra-secret Bengal Auxiliary Flotilla with Commander Norman RN as senior officer. They did ..."

I wonder what!
