Bertram Thomas Foulds

01/02/2013

Sadly, we have to record that shipmate Bert Foulds died on 21st January 2013, after a long illness. Bert joined London Branch about twenty years ago. He was one of our quieter members; a good listener, followed, where necessary, by his own quietly expressed opinion. He became a popular member, but his stay was fairly short–lived because he moved to Cornwall, where he eventually became a well respected member of the Cornwall Branch. Bert first served on ML 106 but finished his service on HMS Mauritious. He had many strengths. I especially remember his selflessness and his enduring loyalty as a shipmate, and as a friend after the Second World War. His funeral service will be held at 13.30 hrs on 5th February 2013, at Bodmin Crematorium. Bert’s children have asked for any donations to be made to The Coastal Forces Heritage Trust, via Stephens & Harris Funeral Directors, Trewalder, Delabole, Cornwall PL33 9ET
